Welcome! I'm April aka The Dog Lady. My clients so often call me by that name, I decided to lean into it!

Between my years of being a doting pet parent as well as a professional care provider, I have acquired a strong knowledge base of how to make pets both happy and healthy. My methods are gentle; I employ only positive methods for walking, training, and as an approach to home care in general. I use redirection and active listening to body language to reinforce good manners, and know that pets, as with humans, more often need empathy than correction. 

I am certified in pet first aid and cpr, and am proficient in giving medications, whether they be oral, topical, or injectible. I am also currently in the process of completing pet nutrition coach certification!

Originally from the Maritimes, I returned about 4 years ago after living away for many years. I am located in beautiful Point de Bute, right on the New Brunswick/Nova Scotia border. I live on acreage with my husband, our two dogs and two cats.  Our kids are all grown up, but visit often.

In addition to frequent dog walking and pet sitting gigs, I keep busy by hiking, listening to podcasts, and  running a successful vintage and antique shop (you can find the link for my shop below)!
